Buildin' Da Waaagh! - 1850 - Da Bosses

Welcome to a new segment known as Buildin' Da Waaagh! BDW is all about finding new and interesting ways to play Orks. It is dark times we live in where every new codex that drops is getting a swift kick in the nuts. I truly believe that while the new Ork dex is a little bland, there is a lot of untapped potential. There are a lot of posts floating around right now concerning Orks and their future in the tournament scene. While I am happy to have some actual Ork buzz (seems to be few and far between with all of the boring Imperial Knight meta talk), I feel like a lot of the bloggers out there are missing the true point of Orks. Krump face. Stop worrying about ObSec and build to murder.

Let's get started!

WH40k Battle Report - 2000pt. - Orks vs. Grey Knights

SPESS MUHREENZ!!! DA WIERD GREY WONZ!!! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Yes, Snazzletoof. We most certainley did get a chance to face the new Grey Knights last night! Man, have they changed... I have to admit that I was a little nervous going into this game. Haunting memories of facing Grey Knights in 5th edition still loomed in my pea-sized Ork brain. I had heard that the new GK wasn't anything near what it used to be. While, I agree, I think a lot of the changes were for the best. I think the new Grey Knight codex is just a complicated rubix cube that most have not solved. Long gone are the days of Matt Ward insta-gib awesomeness and auto-win buttons. The new Grey Knights need some love. Not by GW, but by the players.

Anywho, let's get down to some good ole' fashioned Orks and SPESS MUHREENZ!!!!

Ork Codex Review - Pt. III - Troops

BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ! BOYZ!  WAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!  ....err...and grots...

Snazzletoof isn't wrong. Boyz and Grots are as simple as it gets. Gone are the days of turning Nobz and Warbikers into troops. With every model becoming a scoring unit and the option of going unbound, I understand why the change was made, but it stilll hurts.

Let's break it down!

WH40k Tournament - 1500 pt. - @Area 51 G.A.C.

Oi! Lissen up ya smelly gitz! Da Orks went krumpin' in a tor..tur...er...tourn...errr....

I'll take it from here, Snazzletoof. You were doing so well too! It's true! I played in a 1500 pt. tournament this past Saturday at Area 51 Gaming and Collectibles in Grapevine, TX. It was a super laid back tournament with a lot of really great people in attendance. We had a super relaxing 3 hours per round which made it much more enjoyable for everyone. While I feel 2 1/2 would have been plenty of time with relaxation involved, it ended up being pretty nice.

My first matchup was against an old friend who plays Tau: Farsight Enclave. Unfortunately, I did not grab extra copies of my opponents lists so you will have to bare with me while I try to remember what they have. What I CAN tell you is that Farsight and his drones had Fearless and it turned out to be pretty epic. However, here is my list!
