A few weekends ago, myself and some buddies got together to play our own rendition of one of the many pivotal battles on Vigilus.
The Death Guard and the Emperor's Children line up their forces to take the spire head on.
The Ultramarines, Adeptus Custodes, Dark Angels, and Blood Anges fortify their defenses!
The Legions of Plague and Excess press forward!
Meanwhile, The Black Legion with the support of the Word Bearers come in through the flank!
The Imperial Fists and Crimson Fists answer the call and begin fortifying the rear of the spire!
The hellacious daemon engines of the Black Legion make the spearhead of the assault.
Meanwhile, a secret contingent of Emporer's Children supports the Black Legion from the rear.
The battle begins to heat up as aerial support drops in.
The forces of the Primordial Annihilator answer the aerial support with their Heldrakes!

The Forces of the Black Legion prepare their initial assault into the Imperium of Man.
The initial assault is backed up by a mechanized company of Black Legion support.
The Ultramarines counter the Black Legion with heavy supports of their own.
The Death Guard sorcerers make use of the Noctilus Crown, harnessing the warp energies.
The wait is over. The forces of Chaos and the Imperium collide in a brutal tale that can only be written in blood.
Meanwhile, the Death Guard slowly, but purposefully press the advance.
The Thunderhawk of the XIV Legion makes its presence known with unfettered bombardments.
A former Knight of the Imperium, now sworn to the service of the Emperor's Children prepares its perfect assault!
Slow are the ways of Nurgle. Fast is their plague.
Marneus Calgar and his honor guard watch over the battle, keeping a keen eye for the Warmaster, Abaddon the Despoiler.
The Hounds of Abaddon slam their bikes of horror into the Crimson Fist Primaris.
This hellacious daemon prince roared into combat with the Blood Angels, only to be sent back to the eye of terror through their virtue and furor.
The Hounds of Abaddon exit their rhino chain weapons blaring, looking for blood!
Just then, the Warmaster and his Bringers of Death teleport onto the spire! He calls out Marneus Calgar in a challenge for the ages! Against his wishes, Calgar's honorable shield captains run in to deflect the blows of the Warmaster! They will not see their liege fall this day!
Abaddon the Despoiler quickly finished off the shield guardians and put a grievous wound upon Marneus Calgar before he was swept away by the rest of his honor guard.
