Still' Waaaghin', Still Choppin'

Oi gitz!

It has been a few months since my last post. As some of you may know, I am a teacher and the beginning of the school year is typically one of my biggest speed bumps in my 40k endeavors. Each new school year comes with all new problems, and time consuming events. It usually takes me a few weeks for my body to adjust to the school year schedule. I mean, hey, waking up at 11am and painting/playing Orks every day is a pretty sweet gig and it's hard to adjust from that. Needless to say, I am starting to fall into my routines and have been slowly getting back on the hobby bandwagon.

Over the summer my FLGS participated in an intensive 10 week 40k campaign that really brought the community together more than ever. Our 40k community is mostly a refuge community from when our local GW shut down a few years ago. The summer campaign really helped us re-bond in a lot of ways. In addition, we saw more armies being panted than we had seen in a long time. Though the campaign probably should have been about 7-8 weeks, it was super awesome and totally worth it.

Needless to say, after an entire summer of Orks and a new Dark Angels codex released (which I still haven't really had a chance to enjoy!) I am going to take a slight break from my Orks, at least until the end of the year. With that being said, I would like to get BACK on the Krumpin' Time board and still produce some cool content that will of course be, that's right, Ork related. During my Ork-Hobby Hiatus, I will mostly be working on my Dark Angels and my Dark Elves for Age of Sigmar (which is surprisingly a really awesome game when you stop being a stiff ass about the change).

Well, that's about all I have for now. Some cool new things to come! And remember...

Keep Un-calm and WAAAAAGH!!!

Buildin' Da Waaagh! - 1850 - Da Bosses

Welcome to a new segment known as Buildin' Da Waaagh! BDW is all about finding new and interesting ways to play Orks. It is dark times we live in where every new codex that drops is getting a swift kick in the nuts. I truly believe that while the new Ork dex is a little bland, there is a lot of untapped potential. There are a lot of posts floating around right now concerning Orks and their future in the tournament scene. While I am happy to have some actual Ork buzz (seems to be few and far between with all of the boring Imperial Knight meta talk), I feel like a lot of the bloggers out there are missing the true point of Orks. Krump face. Stop worrying about ObSec and build to murder.

Let's get started!

WH40k Battle Report - 2000pt. - Orks vs. Grey Knights

SPESS MUHREENZ!!! DA WIERD GREY WONZ!!! FIGHT! FIGHT! FIGHT!

Yes, Snazzletoof. We most certainley did get a chance to face the new Grey Knights last night! Man, have they changed... I have to admit that I was a little nervous going into this game. Haunting memories of facing Grey Knights in 5th edition still loomed in my pea-sized Ork brain. I had heard that the new GK wasn't anything near what it used to be. While, I agree, I think a lot of the changes were for the best. I think the new Grey Knight codex is just a complicated rubix cube that most have not solved. Long gone are the days of Matt Ward insta-gib awesomeness and auto-win buttons. The new Grey Knights need some love. Not by GW, but by the players.

Anywho, let's get down to some good ole' fashioned Orks and SPESS MUHREENZ!!!!
