How to... Paint Orky Rust on Weapons!

Step 1. Base coat your metal area with Doombull Brown (Dark Flesh)
Step 2. Take a stipple brush (I use an old small GW drybrush for small stuff) and carefully blotch your desired primary color in an up and down motion. Left and right will make your paintjob streaky. Make sure you blotch it so that some of the base coat of rust is showing in areas. The idea is to make it look like your primary color is chipping off.

My army are known as the Junka' Boyz and a combination of Bad Moons and Death Skulls so I use a lot of  Averland Sunset (Iyanden Darksun) and Ice Blue. This weapon is using Iyanden.

Step 1 & 2!
Step 3. Take the Doombull Brown (Dark Flesh) and stipple it back on in desired areas of where the weapon my rust more. On vehicles this is best done in crevices facing downward and the lower edges of the hull. On weapons you can really just play with it and decide for yourself.
Step 3!
Step 4. Take your stipple brush and some Ledbelcher (Boltgun Metal) and lightly dab on the edges of the areas you added extra rust to. This give the scratching effect on the paint. Past the rust and straight into the metal!
Step 4
Step 5. This is the easiest step! Wash that mug with Reikland Fleshshade (Ogryn Flesh) and call it a day!
Step 5

Here are some more examples of of my rust effects used in WIP shots throughout my army.

Mmmm! Bloodsplatter!
